Art Moe (KB7WW) SK

November 12th, 2008

Art Moe, KB7WW has become a silent key on or about 09 November 2008.

Art was quite active on the VHF bands, especially on 6M.  He was also PNWVHFS Director for Oregon from 2002 - 2004.  He had been in declining health for several years.

The society extends its condolences to Art’s family and friends.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.

New Photo Gallery

November 8th, 2008

We are happy to announce the addition of a Coppermine photo gallery to the PNWVHFS website!  This was yet another feature we really didn’t have available to us on our old domain host (they had a photo gallery but, well, the way they had it set up was VERY user unfriendly).

N7CFO and W7DHC have uploaded about 55 photos from the 2008 conference and I have added in all the front page photos used on the main site for the past many years as well.  We’ll be adding to the collection over time and hope to go back and drop in photos from past conferences as time allows.

I am still fighting a permissions issue that keeps me from being able to open the floodgates for photos. But once I get that solved I can start giving out “uploader” accounts to folks on an as needed/requested basis.

Go to www.pnwvhfs.org/gallery to peruse the photos or follow the link from the photo gallery tab on the main site.

400 Members by the Conference!??!

September 24th, 2008

K7AWB came up with the idea for a membership drive to push the society membership to 400 members (including SKs) by the conference.

The applications have been rolling in but we still have a long way to go.  If you haven’t joined yet and want to help push the number skyward the membership application is here.

And sorry, we cannot accomodate “vanity membership number” requests.
