| In 2001, Rick Beatty, NU7Z,
talked with Downeast Microwave owner Steve Kostro, N2CEI about
getting a club discount on transverter kits, assembled
equipment and antennas and he got a favorable response.
These are group purchase opportunities, so we would need to
make one consolidated order. This is only available
to members of the Pacific Northwest VHF Society.
If you aren't a member download
the membership application now and send in your $10
to join. You will more than make up for that $10 in
the savings on your first use of this group purchase!
We can get discounts
of 10% or more, depending on the dollar volume
of each order. Regular DEM kit prices range from $210
to $325 depending on the band, and kits are available for
all bands from 50 MHz through 10 GHz. Assembled equipment
runs somewhat higher, generally about +$100 for a transverter.
The size of the order determines exactly what the discount
will be but the more everyone buys, the more everyone saves.
Rick does require full payment prior to placement of the
order.
There's certainly no limit
here, so if you want 2, 3 or one of everything, that's fine
too. The plan is to submit these orders 2 or 3 times a year.
Contact Rick at Nu7z@aol.com for more info on when
he will place the next order.
You can check out the DEM
web page at http://www.downeastmicrowave.com/
to see all the neat stuff that's available.
